I would go with the AMD Phenom II one, IMO. I hate dell , so HP is a good choice. I also am an AMD fan, best for the $$.

good idea, 8 gig sdram and a TB of memory is nice. i like the windows 7, but microsoft works is gay, at least you get the 90 day word trial. you are going to need to fork out some money for that. the expandability to 16 gb ram is also nice. I would fork a good amount of cash into antivirus, i did so and have yet to have problems on my trashy computer. also go for the really nice warranty. i got the 3 year in store on my old one, but if broke down 3 times, so they had to replace it with an equally priced computer.

yea im looking into antivirus software, if i get the comp from bestbuy, they give you 50%off antivirus. but im sure i can find it online and get it for free

I use avast free edition for antivirus... Havn't had a virus since. I'd say its the best free one out there if not the best one out there.

I know a guy who does high def green screening and commercials and he just made his own that is insane. granted it is the size of a 10 year old child, but it is amazing and somehow he ran two different screens off of it at the same time

ive tried macs before, but they are fairly expensive for mediocre results aside from media work. the feel is sluggish and toyish to me, i will forever be a pc until something that is more compatible with me comes along
