| im going to be pre-ordering it. I played teh demo with my Advent Children blu ray and OMG the battle system is INSANELY fun. Its like hack'n slash and turn based hybrid. Its crazy. And of course 7.1 AMAZING sound with those graphics will be great. (but not so great for compressed 360 users lol) | |

| Just think, it could've looked even better if it had been PS3 exclusive, they had to miss so many features out just so the 360 could handle it | |

You look like a disappointment Thanks, sunshine. But I can't be excited for FFXIII. I've read reviews that have said flat out they are disappointed with some of the changes. For one, it looks like the most linear game in the series so far. Literally, the maps are just one long straight line from what I've seen. Here, this is an excerpt from a review I read that completely put me off on the game. "You can have up to three characters in your party, but only when the game says so. And here’s the real kicker: You only control one of them during battle, and you don’t even get to pick who that is. At least for the first 17 hours, you only control whoever the game tells you to, and the computer picks up the slack on the rest. I’ll explain below why this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But going from an all-time high of five playable characters in Final Fantasy IV all the way down to one in XIII is pretty much indicative of the general ratio that informs this game’s design: For every five things you could choose to do in a previous game, XIII offers only one. With precious few exceptions, the first 17 hours go like this: battle, movie, repeat. There are almost no towns, nonplayable characters to chat up, extra side missions, hidden sequences, fancy equipment to save up for and buy, or reasons to run around and grind enemies for extra level-ups. Heck, there’s no need to even wonder what to do next."

| Damn, I've not heard any of that! I guess the 360 is to blame for the game being all linear because they had to make it so that you can't go back to places you already visited apparently, which is gay. I guess I'm just excited because its a new final fantasy and I've not played one for a long time, from what I've seen though it looks like a great game, I guess we'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out for sure | |

| Who said FFXIII was going to be bad? It's just different. If you like the old school FF's and can't stand changing the old tradition, you'll probably hate FFXIII. I like what they did to FFXIII to make it a more cinematic experience. Also, most people who have played the JP version seem to agree that it has the best battle system to date. | |

| I'm certain it won't be a bad game, in fact I'm sure it's going to be one of the best games I've ever played, I love the way it looks and the battle system looks like it could indeed be the best ever. But as far as I know this game could've been so much more if it weren't limited by the 360's lack of storage space on its discs, so because the 360 is so limited, the game itself will suffer in that it may not be as good as it could've been had it been an exclusive. | |

| All the games have been different, some like the changes some don't. Personally I like more of a linear game(to some extent) because I'm not really a hardcore treasure hunter. Also, even if it sucks I'm going to give it an honest chance. Some of the ff's take a while to get into. | |

| oh hell yes getting this on the midnight release. IT looks good in terms of gameplay graphics and all other elements. But of course xbox360 needs to steal another all time exclusive for themselves and promotional income based on sales on a very popular game limited to the xbox hardware which won't bring out its full potential which really bothers me. But soon after this game it GOWIII! A PS3 exclusive and only made possible on ps3. Yes FFXIV is pure online and just for ps3. for now... it better be. | |

| Played for a few hours, still have a few things I don't like, but still overall good feeling. My thoughts without spoiling:
The battle system at first is just attack, attack, attack. But once the story progresses, it becomes something more complex. I don't mind the linear maps too much because it keeps the focus on the story. The maps and characters are beautiful. However, I think there is a little bit of an overload on the cut scenes. I probably spent more of my time watching rather than playing. Also, Hope and Vanille's voices are annoying as hell. The dialogue can be really tacky also. (I TOLD YOU MOM'S ARE STRONG). I'm also disappointed in Lightning. She's badass as hell, but has no personality at the same time. It also takes a few hours for the story to develop besides Snow and Serah's romance, but it too is complex when it unfolds.
For any doubters, give it time and you'll learn to accept it's flaws and so far I think it's worth it.

| Im only about and hour and 45 into it ( going to spend a good couple hrs on it tonight) and I agree with most of what you said. I am new to the franchise as far as playing a FF game. But i have many friends who are pretty obsessed and so I know quite a bit for never playing an actual release. I have only played FF1 on PSP, Crisis Core and Dissidia. Lightning is a little boring, but is that how most main protagonists are? lol God WAR from Darksiders is one of the most boring heros ever yet hes still badass lol Vanille is very hot but i tink shes not al there lol She like a very slow child lol The change in the fighting system is one of the reasons that drew me to this release more because im not a big fan of turn based battles (which is one reason why i never got too into FF games) But i think this is a great system they have. Its fast paced and action packed. Its not a long boring battle nor just a running hack n slash (which i do love lol) I look forward to completing this game. | |

| I'm about 8 hours into it on Ch. 5. The combat system gets more and more engaging the further you get in and the enemies get harder. Also, the characters start off somewhat unremarkable, but they develop as the story goes on. | |
